steam condensate loop

any of you gents ever see an auxilary loop off a steam boiler with free standing c.i. radiators piped with full 1 1/4 "black pipe ?seems to be 1940's vintage . original piping undergroung ,piping replaced above floor also looks to be very old. at least 40 years. boiler up on 15 " block platform. steam returns --wet on floor.i installed new burnham kin 7 on concrete floor built drop header for steam and connected loop with pump,flow control valve and rated swing check valve on return. works like a charm.
