Radiant Shower Seat

This job has been ongoing for a while now. The upstairs is almost ready for gypcrete as soon as our Super-Hero Matt J finishes the tubing install.
These are some pics of the Master Bath walk-in shower and the Radiant Heat Shower Seat. Matt had the GC router out the backrest to set the tubing, the seat has tubing as well that will be filled in with a wood overlay to bring the seat "flush", then Matt's idea to help evenly distribute the reset temp water, was to put down a sheet of aluminum joist pan. That will go on the back rest as well as the seat. The backrest is going to get a "scratch-coat" process before the tile, the seat will have a layer of durock prior to the tile.
I think Matt had some trouble actually locating aluminum joist pan. Matt will have to "splain" his difficulties in retreiving the goods.
Of course we will post photo's of the finished product. This 8,000 sqft house needed only 183,000 BTU's for all space heating and the DHW, but the gas supply piping will accomodate 1,400,000 btu's for the pool, gas stoves, and I honestly forget what else. This house is going to have an indoor waterfall as well.
Love to hear your comments. Thanks Matt for doing a great job!
Regards,
PR

Wish I could take a shower in there.
That looks like it's going to be a very interesting shower.
Curious as to how much the sheets of aluminum will help distribute the heat. Plain to see that lots of creative thinking went into the layout of this (Comfort Zone.) I'd be afraid of the tubing being damaged by a screw durring the Durrocking process. Are they going to have a steam generator in there?

Waterfall?
Every time I hear the phrase "indoor waterfall" I think of how much humidity that is going to cause! Be careful to size your dehumidification systems to take that into account. Evaporation is proportional to surface area, and there is LOTS of surface area in a waterfall!0 -
A couple thoughts
The ThermoFin U-fin would work nicely for this. Cut a bunch of 5 or 6" long pieces to fit in the notched studs.
3/8" pex works easier in those tight bend areas, and yes the U fin comes in 3/8, pretty sure.
Gonna be a nice shower area. Creative work

Huge
water fall all of 8' tall by maybe 6'wide. I don't think the ("artist") thats what what the owner called him) knows what kinds of problems that he has created. and he doesn't know how to weld very well, scary thought. we'll see? Gary should probably have when with Hot Rods U-Fin but decided to go this way. I put R-foil behind it to try and refect the heat out and the tubing is actually touching the panning, I hope to get heat transfer that way. The back rest get "scratch coat" over it so no nails there but the seat is going to get 1/4 durock. The builder has attention to detail and reasured me that his guys would nail me. Just the same all of the lines have air on the just in case. The first pic has acurved wall at the bottom left that is the steam shower. Steam generator is in the basement. The curved 1/2" door on this I was told is 18,000. Ahhh to have money!!!! Hot Rod thanks for the advise. I appreciate it! Paul R. showed me a pic of the radiant bed. Nice bed to say the least. I'm impressed!!! THANKS GUYS for the imput!!! Matt J.0 -

water fall Jim 8' tall by at least 6' wide. The "artist" thats what the home owner called him doesnt know how to weld very well and I know he has no idea how much of a problem he has created. Hot Rod is probably right about the U-Fins Gary, but I decided to go this way. the tubing is actually touching the panning I just hope enough of it is. The back rest gets a scratch coat so no nails there, but the seat gets Durock. The builder has alot of attention to detail and reassured me that I would not get nailed .Just the same all lines have air on them. The first pic that has the curved wall on it on the lower left is the steam shower. Totally seperate room. the curved door that goes on it is half inch glass that goes for about 18,000. Whats a little money? Hot Rod thanks for the great advise, I really appreciate it. Don't think that I won't use those plates in the future, I will. Paul R. showed me a pic of that radiant bed of yours. NICE BED!!!!! THANKS for the input guys I appreciate it!!0
