Disposal of T87 thermostats?

in THE MAIN WALL
Where is the proper place to send old thermostats that contain mercury? I don't think it is legal to throw them into the garbage.

    T-stats

    Honeywell has a program to recycle mercury T-stats. check with your supply house. R.E. Michels Company has collection boxes at there stores for one.

    t-87 stats

    check with your city or town hall,they usually will have days when when they collect haz-mat materials. Masschusetts has had special days just to collect and recycle old items that contain mercury.

    Most supply houses will collect and dispose of them for you.
