Pulma Pak Boiler

I just had a customer call about a Pulma Pak Boiler(may not be spelled correctly). I've heard of them but never worked on one.
He claims the one side is exposing the copper pipes inside. Going tomorrow to look at it. Just looking for some input on these & the approx age of them
Thanks
Rick

    Poloma Pak

Most likely a Poloma Pak - a wall hung copper boiler. Haven't seen or worked on one in years. I don't know if they are still in business. Good Luck! Take some pics. -DF

    I don't think Paloma

ever made a boiler. There were a lot of their instantanous water heaters used a hydronic sources. Plenty of the early Heatway systems used both Paloma and Vailant instantanous heaters. I have two customers with 16 year old P's still burning away.

Yes you can see the copper coils from inside the burner box:)

And yes they still manufacture and import several sizes. I just saw a new carwash spec with two 199,000 Pamlomas in the equipment list. somewhere I have the name of a distributor in St.Louis that has parts on the shelf.

did make a wall hung boiler. They no longer sell the boilers in this country effective the early 90's. They are still in business and market wall hung water heaters in this country, but not boilers.

are no longer made. They became Hy-Tech before they were discontinued. We still have a supply house here in New England that has parts.

I have all the literature and service information ever written on them. If you need anything let me know. You can e-mail me at gastc@cox.net.

Laars has a HP Model Heatmaker that can replace the Paloma-Pak. I was involved with the redesign of the Heatmaker to transition from Paloma Pak to a HP model Heatmaker.

    Thanks Glenn

I didn't know that. The dealer in St. Louis claims they have two sizes still available in this market?

They still advertise in PM mag about every month. 805-278-5499 in Oxnard, CA the e-mail is PalomaUSA@raypak.com

    Paloma, parts available.

Parts availabl from Gourley company in I think Waltham,Mass. We order parts quite often for old ones we work on. The problem you are talking about is probably a burned out heat x. They are available, Also water valve rebuild kits, over temp limiters for heat x. Yes they were an asme boiler, PP6 & PP12 models. Easy to change out heat exs. About 4 hrs and its done. I have apt bldgs that they stock the back up parts on site, we go and find a bad heat x, change it while on site and move on.
