steam leak - call a pro or DIY

shoots steam out everytime heats on, you can see the water damage.
Can this be fixed by a DIY'er or is better to get a pro?

Loose packing
tighten the nut around the stem, and if that doesn't work, get some graphite string packing and wrap it around the stem under the nut.

also make sure the valve is all the way open or all the way closed and not half way in between.0 -

Also make sure the system is off and I mean the main power switch and cold when you take the packing nut off to repack the valve. Also stick some rags and a pan under the valve.0
