Can Buderus Save Me Money

hi I am switching my buderus control over from 2109 to the 2107 will the 2107 really save me money

it says 40% fewer burner startups
30 % less fuel oil

now how can it be fewer burner startups
when the burner will run when there is a call for heat

I know the t-stat dose not control the burner on the 2107
but once the cerc pumps run the water in the boiler will cool down and start the burner. and this would do this everytime there is a call for heat.

so what I don't understand is how is this saving money
please help me understand

I will also be running the whole house with baseboard heating.

thanks

The burner doesnt ryn on a call for heat, it runs when the water temp is not at the set or design temp. On a call for heat, you circulator or zone valve will open.

yea they will open and bring the water temp down and turn the burner on to bring the temp back up

so it fires after a call for heat insted of on a call for heat

so ether way it will turn on the burner what I don't understand is 40% less burner startup How?

Yes this is true but its not so instant. Especially for a European cast boiler. Those 3" of insulation are keeping lots of heat in. Excellent thermal efficiency. So my point is just because there is a call for heat, doesnt mean the burner must turn on.

This has nothing to do with the Logomatic 2107. That control has its own benefits and the use of the outdoor reset is essential for your fuel savings.

Maybe Joe@Buderus will see this later and post a better response.

I have spoken to "RoosterBoy" about this before he posted his question. I assume he is looking for input from others.
    Thanks,

hi Joe I think we talked about my problem with short cycling and how the 2107 will help fix it because the t-stat dose not control the burner.

what I don't understand is how it can save me money
if the burner runs after a call for heat

or during a call for heat

I know the 2109 runs on a call for heat and shuts down the burner when the call for heat is done

the 2107 keeps the water in the boiler at a set temp depending on the outside

but when there's a call for heat the pumps turn on and the boiler gets cold and turns the burner on and brings the water back up to temp

so ether way the burner will come when there's a call for heat
so how dose this result in 40% fewer burner starts

    thanks

The Logamatic differential will increase as the outdoor temperature increases. The logamatic can fire slightly above the heating curve temperature and allow a large differential before turning the burner back on.
Example: On call for domestic from a stand by loss. A typical aquastat will keep the boiler running till the dhw temperature is reached. The R2107 will actually shut the boiler down before the dhw temperature is reached and just allow the circulator to run to transfer the heat from the boiler.
This time of year, the outside temperatures are near the design temperatures of the system (180 degree water at zero degree outside temperature). More burner cycles have to be expected. During milder temperatures is where the greatest benefits are realized with the Buderus boiler and Logamatic Control.
