Replacing boiler for Sarco vapor system

Besides piping the boiler the same as it was, is there anything else we can to upgrade the system?

We are replacing a converted boiler that has a gas gun for a burner.

There is no vaporstat, but a pressuretrol set really low

The system has a return trap that seems to be working.

The check valves & return piping have been replaced in the last year.

There is one vent up in the ceiling with the ball check removed.

    When you change the boiler

keep the water line as close as possible to that of the old boiler. Pipe the boiler according to the manufacturer's specs, which vary according to who made the boiler. Add properly-sized vents to the ends of the steam mains if needed (there may be crossover traps there acting as air vents).

When you start it up, check to see if there is any steam in the dry return. If so, the traps need work.
