help--looking for a vacuum for oil burning boilers

Hey guys I could use a little input on what is being used to vacuum up an oil-fired boiler. Right now I use a small shop vac with those paper filters and it clogs in about thirty sec and I end up having to change or knock out the filter about 4-5 times on one boiler. Does anyone have any good suggestions on this subject.

Try a Sootmaster vac. R.E. Michels sells them

    hands down the soot master.

or if you are thin in the pocket book buy a cheezy shop vac and lotsa hose... put the shop vac out side , clean the boiler , once done go up disconnect the long hose and throw the shop vac in the garbage can.

The Sootmaster is a great vacuum

But the first thing we did with it was rip the label off.

    Vac

The sootmaster is definitely the best. Patriot Supply should have them, you can reach them at 516-249-3100. They are very helpful over there.

is top of the line. Milwaukee used to make a good one too. Make sure you get the dacron filter bag for your prefilter.

    thank you for the input

anyone ever used the HCTV made by the Atrix Corp. The reason I ask is I am looking for something fairly portable and they have a vacuum that is just a bit bigger than a five gallon bucket . Any comments?

We own three soot vacs. One is about 25 years old, one about 10 years and the last one five years old. The oldest one works just as well as the newest one. They are all Sootmaster vacs. Sid Harvey sells the same vac with their name. Don't fool around with anything else.
