Rheem Criterion cycle is very short...

A Rheem Criterion (Model RGLG-10NBRJR) gas furnace cycle has
gone haywire! What it's doing is igniting, burners turn on
for almost 5 minutes and then they shut off. The temperature
is still below the setting so the thermostat is still telling
the furnace to turn on and so it starts again (igniting...).
I have replaced the thermostat so that's not the problem.
What other components/sensors can turn off the burner
prematurely? Thanks, in advance, for any information!

    questions

    Does the blower start?

Is it the standing pilot model or the HSI? (the Rheem website says it could be either)

Have you taken the thermostat out of the circuit and jumped it out into heating mode?

Does it prove and start up right away or does it take a cycle or 2 before it lights?

    Also,

what type/brand of thermostat did you have, and what type/brand t-stat did you install?

    more details...

Yes, the blower does start up and stop. I've been assuming that it is the standing pilot but I will inspect it tomorrow.
I did take the thermostat out, jumped it and held it while it
did the short cycle. I don't have the old thermostat but the
    new one is a honeywell.
I don't remember how long it took to start-up but I will
try it again tomorrow (tenants living in house so I can't
check it any time I want).

Thanks for the good questions. I hope to get some answers
    to you right away.

    According to Rheem

On their website, it's a single stage downflow/horizontal furnace. To the best of my knowledge, it has a single stage gas valve.

    NOT 2 STAGE!!!

The RGLG is the first generation 34" 80. It would be hot surface ignition. It may not have a flame rod, the first ones used the ignitor as a flame sensor. A remote flame sense kit could be added for more reliable sensing. If the ignitor is over 5 years old, could be the culprit.
