Dear there,
I have some questions that I would like to ask for help. I have a gas fired burham IN7 steam heat boiler, and like to use honeywell T8601 C 1047 thermostat.questions are below:
1. The thermostat is pre set to Gas/Oil warm air, do I need to change it to Gravity air/water?
2,The 24 Vac (Honeywell AT1500)transformer comes as primary= white-black wires, and secondary= blue-yellow wires, I know in primary black is the hot wire, how about in the secondary? which one is the hot one?
3. I use this thermostat with the steam heat only, so if I connect 24Vac neutral to terminal C and W, the 24Vac hot to the terminal R, is this correct?
Tahnk you very much for your help...

Chronotherm
Question #1 Some thermostats can not be used for steam, you need to read from your end through the paper work..... Does not say that you can't use for steam ..........Set it to hot water system .
Question #2 Does not matter , just stay with the program you deside. Blue hot then keep the yellow common.
Question#3 RH would use one of the wires from the transformer (hot) . W wire goes to the gas valve or burner control. The common from the control goes to the other wire (common ) on the transformer. C is a common , may be just a lug or needed for thermostasts extra opptions. May be to keep the back light shinning all the time. A third wire for C is needed back to the common on the transformer.... Not needed for heat.....0 -
IN7 wiring
The thermostat is not wired directly to the transformer in the IN boilers. It is wired to the contactor relay to isolate it from the current draw of the various boiler devices. In the junction box it is wired to the Brown and Blue wires. The hot 24v wire from the transformer secondary is Blue and the Neutral is Yellow. This is all very clear in the Installation Manual.
