I have no Heat but I have Hot Water... What is wrong???

Hi,

I live in a condo in Brooklyn and have no heat.. However, I have hot water. When I go to the basement to the boiler (Burnham) room the pipes are hot. At first I thought it was my thermostat but I dont think thats the problem because when I move the slider I see a spark in the mercury. The heat worked the whole winter last year and hasn't worked this season. Any suggestions??

    sounds like

    It sound's like it's in your control system or circulator system. Sound's like the boiler is to temp just no way to get it to the baseboard. You need a pro to diagnose the problem...

    You may also want to check if air is in the pipes, your heating professional may have to bleed the system.

    Could be the ciculator, could be air in the pipes, could be a bad relay.

    Who knows what the rates are in your area.

    Bottom line is you have no heat and unless your happy that way you need someone to fix it. Stop worrying about the price and call someone.. really.

    Condo?

    Doesn't your building have someone to maintain the heating system?
    Is it the building's boiler or do you make your own heat/hotwater?

    All owners have their own boilers.
