Digital thermostats for Steam boiler

Can anyone recommend a good programmable thermostat that will work for a steam boiler? Do they even exist?

    Makes quite a few. Make sure you adjust the cycle rate for steam.

    cycle rate (-thermostat novice)

    What is a reasonable setting? I'm sure there are some factors involved. By setting the cycle rate, I assume you mean to do so via an anticipator adjustment?

    I've been told that there's no calibrating the anicipator setting on digital tstats. Is this true?

    i've worked with honeywell t-stats and all of them have an installer setup, the cycle rate is in the installer setup. some home depot specials have set screws and whatnot to do the same thing. steam heat typically has a cycle rate of "1" on digital t-stats. make sure you buy a battery powered stat otherwise you might find out the hard way that your transformer de-energizes when the pressuretrol setting is met.

    Outdoor Reset

    Hello,

    If you are interested in saving on your fuel costs you may consider using a tekmar Boiler Control 269 to provide outdoor reset to single steam boiler systems. The control is mainly designed for commercial applications, but could be used in residential applications as well.

    We've got a new one...

    The TH8110U1003 VisionPro is ideal for steam. Digital, touch-screen display, battery powered, 7-day programming. Just set it for 1 cycle per hour, using the touch screen,(the screws are only found on older and retail models) and it should work fine for you.
