the oil burner is telling you it has a problem call your oil co. for help0 -
OIl systems
need annual service. If you have never had it serviced, call a pro. The reset button is a SAFETY. It trips when something in the combustion process of HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE AND DANGEROUS fuel is not SAFE!
Do not just press the reset, get it checked.0 -
Do not press the reset more than once!
It's a safety device that locks out if it detects an unsafe condition. If you press it repeatedly, you will soak the combustion chamber with unburned oil, and if it does relight, you may have a fire or explosion, or greatly increase the cost of your service call, since the combustion chamber will have to be cleaned of all that oil.
Have your burner serviced and set up with combustion testing instruments. If your oil dealer won't or can't do that, find another one. Its your money and your safety!0
