    Gas hot water baseboard heating

I have gas hot water baseboard heating system, apparently it is zoned. I believe that I have two zones in the main part of the house and one zone upstairs which is my daughter's room. It gets terribly hot upstairs. The thermostat is located in the living room. Is there a way that I could turn down the heat upstairs and just maybe even lower the gas bill? I am a nurse and know all about the body and medicine, but know nothing about heating :). If it is something that I could do myself, that would be great. Thanks guys.

The number and location of thermostats will tell you how many zones your system has, Kathy. If there is a stat upstairs and the zone overheats, you could have a mechanical or control problem, or simply too much baseboard in that room. If this has been a problem all along, it could be that simple. You can diminish the amount of heat in that room by closing the damper on the baseboard, but have a good heating guy check out your system. You could have a bad flow check or thermostat.
    Good luck.
