What kind of burners do they use for oil and gas? Literature dosn't say and pictures don't show. Is that a box over a Carlin or a Beckett???

    not too thrilled about these

Well honestly I had the guy who was advertised in the Oil heating magazine for system 2000 come by the engineering firm and I was not thrilled with them or their products. Tey use a beckett burner if I am not Mistaking, I just threw out their catalog. They only sell through their own dealers/installers not to contractors or others. I was going to install 2 boilers and a indirect in my bosses house and then possibly start specing them on our plans, but they would not sell to me at all and for the price I think you can find better. Instead went to buderus. Love the Riello 40 burners on the buderuses

    Hold on, Ed.....................................................

I've never heard a bad thing about Energy Kinetics systems. I believe they can be used with most burners on the market. From what I have seen and heard - they are a fine syste. Mad Dog

    agreed

they are an excellent system and an excellent company, the owner/inventer is very hands on and I'm sure he would like to hear any misgivings you had from your meeting. They don't sell over the counter for good reason, they want to keep the reputation of the unit up, it is complicated, you don't see hacks putting in System 2000 for a reason and they want to keep it that way, they do have an excellent support team for.

    Boilers

What is wrong with protecting dealers? They should be applauded, not put down......FYI- in my area, guess what brand of boiler is seen in the most hack-jobs? Yep, Buderus. They didn't protect the brand as it was in the past. Now, anybody can get them.

    not knocking them

First of all I am not knocking them or their products. and second lets not knock companies like buderus, cause what were you all putting in before kinetics 200 came out. just when the boiler craps out and you need that circuit board and your local guy does not have it, you have a problem. they got a part of the market and i respect them. and finally well if joe blow is a shmuck and is putting in the boiler **** backwards well its not the boiler manufacturers fault, its the guys in the field fault and a issue that came up before of not mentoring correctly. they sell what they sell, but they isolated themselves from a even larger market, so do not think I am knocking them, just from a business standpoint i did not liek it

    hmmm

Well, Energy Kinetics has been in the market longer than Buderus. By the way, I am not knocking the Buderus product, just making a point about having the product available to anyone.

we have it the other way around

I have seen it the other way. A company in this area sells system 2000. Most peolpe consider them hackers and I do not think it has to do with the product.........but that company will take the $ and run.....this puts alot of system 2000 in realy bad homes..... the fact that they THINK they are the only ones who can get the parts around here makes the custumers angry. The custumers are normaly treated poorly by the company after the sale and DO NOT want to have to go to them for parts. The company thinks it keeps people from leaving them by installing the 2000's but they still leave.....and they found they can get the parts from another dealer.....This dosen't sound like a reputation I would want and I would hope system 2000 would make it easyer for the techs to service their systems by selling to wholesalers. Providing another option for the custumer.

    Well

Buderus has been in exsistance for 275 years and in the US for 15 years. So EK has some catching up to do. I like some of their concepts, but I'd rather buy a Laars MAX, inverse indirect and a Tekmar control. Same concept without the propriatary parts.

I would rather invest my U.S. dollars on a heating system patented and manufactured in the GREAT U.S.A.
