I should know this, but I don't

Ok I should know this but can't recall. Low pressure cast iron boilers are rated at 15 lb steam, but what is the rating for hotwater pressure? We have a 6 story apt bld and they have 75lb releif valves. Yikes!!!!! 60 feet of building so pressure at 1/2 lb per foot means 30 psi to get pressure on top floor so we are running higher than we normaly would but those releif valves scare me.

try 45 #
how about 45 # relief ?0 -
they are rated different pressures on water. i suggest you remove part of the jacket to find the manufacturers stamp for max working pressure "steam " & max working pressure "water" Obviously safety valves should not be over this rating.

finally got on hydrotherms site
and downloaded the info I need. Can go up to 100psi on relief valve just incase anyone else was wondering. That sure beat trying to pull the jackets. ( at least on that particular boiler setup)0 -
Yor right about that!!! I wasn't thinking about Hydrotherm.
They are really hard to get off--especially if the flues are not put on with draw bands--same with most modulars.0
