Gurgling

Any ideas as to what causes a gurgling sound in the hot water distribution system? I thought that there might be air in the system. We bled the air out but the noise is still there and may actually be louder now.

You're right,
it's air and it's trapped.
Purging will remove air from the high points, but there are also other areas where air can become trapped.
A skilled tradesman will increase the system pressure - still keeping it below 30 psi - to reduce the size of the air bubbles, allowing the circulator to move the air to a purge point. He will also install a purge assembly at the boiler for pressure purging.
