  • We've had a SLEW of (what we thought were) bad no.11 switches in 67s.

On the ones we've had, I had to disassemble the 67s and "free up" the movement of the floats. It at first appeared to be the switches, but proved to be the floats themselves.

For one customer, I had to install the whole float assembly from the old LWCO from the old boiler.

I mentioned it to the supply house, and they just handed me a new float/no.11 switch assembly.... AND THAT ONE WAS BAD TOO.

What will we do? Good old fashined tried and true products are failing us, making us look like idiots.

    Positively weird timing

We're having a slew of #67 problems too and it's been driving us nuts! Just the opposite - ours are sticking and causing flooding. Nothing can be found wrong with the end switches or the floats. No sediment - not a bit and this is a new installation. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Might I suggest...

that you guys and anybody else who has any problems with a McDonnell & Miller porduct contact Greg Roder of M&M at greg_roder@fluids.ittind.com or 773-250-1314 of fax 773-267-0991.

I know he wants to know about any problems anybody has with M&M products, and will do his absolute best to resolve the problem.
  • Man , that's a bad break

I had an almost dry fire years ago on a new install when the 67 let the burner run with no water in it . About 3 minutes run time you get a funny smell from the new boiler when theres no water in it . We let it cool off for a looooong time and filled it while saying our Hail Mary's .

After that incident we always turn the power on before we fill the boiler and make sure the LWCO works , at least for the 1st time . I hope the LWCO manufacturer gets involved and ponies up some cashola . These controls should not be bad right out of the box . Did you hang on to them ?
