gas calculation

Here's the deal I have a customer that is heating his garage with a natural gas hanging unit heater. He is very concerned about his gas bill this last month. How can I find out how much gas this unit would burn in a 24hr. period.

unit heater
60mbh input,
48mbh output,
1.1137 gas pressure factor,
1.0058 BTU factor

Any help with this would be great.

You could clock the gas meter but you already know the unit is 60,000 btu input which equals about 60 cf of gas /hour depending on the composition of the gas. In most areas gas is 1000 btu/cubic feet. Call the gas company if you need a more accurate analasys. I would get a timer that reads hours- I know they make them in 120 volt models--not sure about 24 volt but a 120 volt model wired in parallel with the fan motor will get you the hours of run time-clock it for 24 hours example: 15 hours of run time in 24 hour day=15 x 60 cubic feet=900 cubic feet of gas used in 24 hours. Check WW Grainger for timers. I have bought them there in the past
