air space ? between under floor staple up and insulation

Had underfloor staple up onix replaced with plates and pex; but reused the foil faced fiberglas insulation. And did not leave a 2 inch air gap because we now had plates. Plus added another 3 1/2" of insulation. Water temperature raised a little higher but rooms are no more warmer than before; and perhaps a little colder. Is the foil stealing heat from the pex because it is now touching?

possibly somewhat, but I believe the testing a fellow around here did showed that there wasn't a lot of difference if you're using plates. Some, but not a lot. I wouldn't expect it to overcome the plate gain, but then I'm not terribly familiar with Onyx's performance to begin with.
Sounds interesting. Did the sealing of the rim joists suffer at all during the renovation?
