    Gotta hand it to.........

.....your boys, Joel. They sure handed it to my Steelers last night. I'm still depressed.

Wanna know the worst part? Ok, I'll tell ya' anyway!!!

So, there I am watching the game with a bunch of friends. My town is deep in Cleveland Browns territory, so naturally they're all Browns fans. They have decided to root for the "hometown" (Ohio) boy, however, and for once we are rooting for the same team.

Any-who, after the game ends, and I am understandibly crushed, my buddies all look at me and say, "Now you know how we feel every year!!!"

Well, not exactly, since I can't remember the last time the Browns went 16-1, and played in the AFC championship.

Oh well, to quote my buddies, "We'll get 'em next year!!!!"

    Starch, dejected in Ohio.

    Starch, as a Steeler

fan, can you explain the field goal from the 2?

When they kicked that three points is when I felt the game was over. It looked like the Steelers were getting stronger during the third quarter and the Pats looked beatable. They still needed two scores and a two point conversion.

Any coaches out there with a thought?

    I usually try...

...to avoid second guessing the coach. At the time the decision was made, I agreed with it. I think the concern was needing 2 yards for a first down as opposed to an easy 3 points. Getting the 2 yards was by no means guaranteed, and it would have REALLY taken the wind out of our sails to go all the way down the field and end up with nothing.

I think Cowher was hoping to be able to make up the remaining points, but not risk losing a guaranteed 3.

    Then again, who knows???????????????????

    Starch, "wait til next year!"

    Pittsburg??

That's a small village in Slovakia that produces the very exspensive Bellincheck Vodka . The only way to get it in the States is to beg someone you know inside at Viessmann to stuff a Vitola with the bottles which are corked like wine. This works well as the bottles can stay at the proper angle nicely inside the boiler. They tell you the serial number. You wire them an extra 10 grand to a nunmbered account in Grand Cayman. Then you just make sure you buy THAT boiler. Sadly last time I got my dyslexia going again and got the number screwed up. Scotty Milne had a heck of a Pahty with my Vodka I heard they even mixed it with fruit drinks like orange juice (blasphemy)

    Steelers

Being from Pennsy, a Steelers-Eagles match up would have been great. No matter who lost we would still win. Go Iggles.

    Lobsta vs Steak & Cheese

Jamie that better be one giant Steak & Cheese to
compare to a New England Lobster, you maybe closer to a bowl of clam chowder with that deal.As a New England fan you never can be over confident, I like that Donavan McNabb, but our man never lost, nevermind three title games in a row. I like our chances.

    secondary

Eagles. The biggest stat as to why the Eagles will win: 75% of the Eagles secondary is going to the ProBowl. Brady is going to have a real tough day trying to find open guys. And he is going to have to deal with Kearse and Burgess getting after him along with whatever blitzing package Jim Johnson thinks up this week. With the passing game stifled, can the running game get going? Not with Jeremiah Trotter shutting it down. It's going to be a long day for those Pats.
    GO EAGLES!!
    -T

PS: J.R. Reed finally breaks one for a TD.

    Lets talk about this

One lobsta does NOT equal one cheesesteak.

How about four cheesesteaks for a lobsta.

Hey you know what I'll take what ever you got. Allthought how does a cheesesteak travel :)

Your on Jamie, allthought I may request a good beer instead, you got anyof that down there ??

Hey THAD, I got one wrod for you BREWSKI !!!!!!

You guys better borrow those towels fromt he steelers to hide the tears.

  • good beer?

    Scott,

How about a case of Yuengling which is not available in New England to (2) 2# Lobsters?

Give me Eagles and 7 (the current spread) and you are on!

I'll even deliver the cold case!

    He said GOOD beer!

I wouldn't accept anything other than Dock Street Brewery "Illuminator" Bock, perhaps the finest microbrew, on this one (if I gambled, that is)!
  • where???

    Jim,

with Doc Street Brewery being so limited in production where have you found this fine brew??????? I live just north of the city and have not seen it even in the most extensive beer collections/store

Hee -hee...didn't say it was easy!

We had a distributer on Long Island that carried it for a few months - I bought him out of it after the first taste! Now, try to find a 2 lb. lobster here on Long Island - that would be a trick!

    NO need for

a tough two pounder. I'll put two 1 1/4 up on this.

Wheels , if your Eagles are so good why the 7 points ?? :)

Come on, and even game my man.

With the best feild goal kicker in the league, it may come down to that. NAh, you guys are going down.

Steve your going to deliver this case of beer ?

The Micro brewery sounds much more like a bet. Two lobsters delivered live to your door.

    Scott

PS: Ask Alan Forbes, they are tasty. Don't ask Hunt.

    Scott,

You are on! I'll will send you 2 cases of PA's best if for some unknown reason the PATS win. (especially now that TO is playing)

For one nice large Lobsta when the BIRDS win!

    TO who?

Normally I am a very humble New England fan, but
not this year !! After the Bosox finally beat the Yanks
and won the series all bets are off. The Pats will
    cruise to victory.
The sons of Belichick will prevail.

  • OK one step further....

    Alright Scott,

I'll put up a case of Victory Golden Monkey (micro brew, 11%) phenominal beer. Not as local as Yuengling... but still local. This beer has won more hearts then Farah Fawcett. (don't make me go to Alagash Dobble Bock, only available in Quarts)

7 points are the current spread. that's the only reason. just playing the booky.

I'll go even-up if the lobsters are 2# each ;-)

And yes, I'll deliver... with good cigars too...

and if you deliver I'll have the beer here with the cigars.

    Breuschi

    Scott,
Brewski, Brueschi, whomever, the Eagles defense is better than the Pats offense. It's gonna come down to some field goals, and David Akers is tha man. No one is more accurate in the last 3 years.
I am not sayin that the Pats are a bad team. Hell, they made it into the Super Bowl this year and won it last year, so we know they are good. I just happen to believe that the Eagles are a better team. Better D, more weapons on O.
It will be a great game.

    A blowout

Let me preface my remarks with this statement -- I'm pulling for the Eagles to pull the upset. It's their turn.

That being said, I think this is setting up to be a blowout. This will probably be one of those 38-14 type games that drives Super Bowl advertisers crazy and sports bar owners to drink - literally.

    The same as Jamie

Two 1 1/4 fresh lobstas. You don't want those 2lb over grown tough ones, you want the sweet tasty meat of a 1 1/4.

I gotta a guy right next door who'll ship em to your door.

What ya say ? Find out what it'll cost you to ship the suds and your on.

( this is like taking candy from a baby)

Brady, Brueschi, Vinateri, Branch, Belichick, McGinest,Faulk ,Dillon ... You SURE you want to do this ?

  • 2# are not tough

Not even a 7# is tough.

I run a lobster pot benefit here and go through 700 1-1/2 pound lobsters in an evening. This year we raised over 12K for local charities!

Don't forget you are dealing with a transplanted Philadelphian-Mainer! My significant other is from Boothbay Harbor and still owns the house she grew up in!

But you are on, sure you won't go to 1-1/2# (twice the meat as a 1-1/4 baby)

ps - I have the butter on already!

    1 1/2

it is wheels. I really don't care, I should go for the 7lber's. I wont be sending you anything :)

But I will disagree with the 2lbs tasting as good, some of those pound guys boil the hell out of all of them so I guess they all taste the same huh ?

    2 - 1 1/2 IT IS.

But now you got me thinking, Those quarts of Dopple Bock sound Mighty tasty.

Boothbay huh ? You ever been to a pahty with just you and a fahma ?

    Scott
  • its a deal

OK, I'll see if the local mega store will package and send, if not I will :-) Alagash Dooble.

nah fahma's in our famly. we do pahty with tha fulks next dar.

    Eagles have no shot

The Sad thing is the Eagles have no shot, they are not even the fourth best team in the NFL.I would put the world Champions, Pittsburgh and Indy ahead of the Eagles. There is no doubt the Patriots will Steamroll this overated team.
