priority control of two boilers

is it possible to have a single control(tekmar or equivelent)control two boilers 1 steam, 1 hydronic with indirects and have that control monitor both units and give priority to the hydronic boiler whenever it calls for heat or hot water? this has to be done so only one boiler will run at a time. both boilers are burnham, one v9 and one v11 one carlin burner(model 201) one beckett(cf2500)
please give me any suggestions that you can for this situation.
thanks pat brown

What am I missing here Patrick?

Do both boilers heat the same spaces, if so, I guess my next question is why?

    not sure why

But you could wire a taco 501 in so that if the priority boiler is on the other boiler could not fire. I have done this once in a situation where the chimney was undersized for two units and the fire dept demanded it (well common sense also said I had to).

the main reason i asked this question is the chimney is undersized for these two units and there is no other way to
run both units off this chimney and there is no other chimneys.

    A simple relay or contactor

is what I use all the time. You can also do it with a DPST relay like the many that are out there.
