Tell me why I can't do this???

we will be starting the S/R's piping in the latest job. On one wing of the house, I have a Header station on the main floor, and on the top floor right above it another station. I have always ran seperate S/R, but was thinking today, since these are actuated loops, with multi zones on each, why not just run one S/R, and branch off for the two headers? I can't see any reason not to do so.
Can you???

I don't see why not.....
the oly two little things might be 1) it will be harder to purge more water to flush out of one pipe 20 it might lengthen the responce time a bit if you have to clean out more of the "colder" water of the larger pipe vs. the smaller pipe...I hope I explained that right????.....kpc

Sure
as long as the S&R is sized to handle the load. Might be wise to add, and adjust , flow setters to assure both manifolds get the proper flow.

Globe Valves
We do it that way all the time, just make sure you put in some way to ballance between the manifolds we use a globe valve on the return at each manifold, and have run as many as eight manifold locations off one properly sized supply and return.
