    riello burner

Take it out and put in a Beckett Afg or Carlin burner. Riello's are no good in hot water heaters as they break down the combustion chamber in hot water heaters because they use 60 degree nozzles.

John, me thinks you're trying to make

a point, an unfounded one, but what the hey!

    Fact

A hot water heater with a Riello burner will last a third less then a hot water heater with an Aero, or Beckett burner. Fact.

Check with Bock to see what burners they recommend!!!

    On the Bock website,

none of the pictures show what looks like Riello burners
  • But they do have the Riello specs

right on the Bock tank , with a few other burners .
  • John musta had a

brainfart with the multiple posts and the wrong info . Riello burners can be fired with a 60 or 80 degree nozzle . If he read the instructions that come with each and every burner , he woulda known . And Riellos do not burn out Bock heaters faster than other brands . I've taken out way too many 32Es with a Bock , Beckett , Carlin - you name it - burner in them .

    Fact... You can't use ....

an 80 degree nozzle in the Bock with a Riello burner because of the higher pump pressure. I spoke to an un named source at Bock and he told me you can use the Riello burner in there water heater But they do decrease the life expectancy of the water heater.
  • Are you saying

no other burner is fired in a Bock with a high pump pressure ? That's news to me because I haven't seen one new Beckett , or Carlin burner come preset with pressure under 140 psi .

Here's some facts . We've installed hundreds upon hundreds of Bock / Riello combos , since the late 80s . We average a replacement a week , give or take . The tanks life averages about 12 years or so . We replace far more tanks without a Riello burner in them .

You know what they say about unnamed sources ? They should keep quiet unless they come up with a name . I didn't know Bock had their own Deep Throat .

Amen to that posting, ron jr!

Too much BS, not enough real FACTS and in writing.
I don't buy off on hearsay anymore, it's like bad-mouthing, highly counter productive.

    Riello

We used the Riellos on ond off over the last 15- 20 years and they have'nt really caught on. The Becketts and Carlins will do everything the Riellos will do and more. A lot easier to service and locate parts for as most of the parts are standard. A concept the Italians and Europe in general don't seem to grasp. And they are Made In The USA. And that alone is good enough for me.

Come to think of it I have seen hot water heaters that were 25 years old with 1725 burners on them.... Maybe hot water heaters last longer with 1725 burners?????

    So Ken

How many Carlin 60200 controls have you gone through in the past 2 years?
  • Firedragon_4

    Yup, and

when they had pot-burners they lasted forever too!

Regretfully, I still think that installs lacking dielectric unions and never having anode rods checked and replaced has probably killed more direct fired heaters than any burner that has ever existed, oil or gas. I'd bet serious money on that point, SERIOUS MONEY!

But, it's always more cool to come up with a controversial reason, right???

Not many as we use mostly Honeywell. We sell enough to order them without controls.
