Steam system baseboard??

Jeff_47

I have a steam heating system and a delima. I have a bathroom which is very small. The radiator sits right next to the toilet and does not allow for much room when sitting. I had removed the radiator in the summer, but now the bathroom is cold. I could fit a low horizontal type hot water baseboard, but I'm not sure this is an option with steam heat. Anyone with a knowledge of the various heating products know of a solution? I'd really appreciate any feedback, thanks.

    Check out....

Steamradiators, com. They make a fairly thin single tubed product that just might free up enough space for you.

    God luck. Chris

    steam baseboard.

Slatfin still rates some of its multi pack 80 for steam, I think others do also.

    proper instilation will be critical.

    Cast-iron Baseboard

is probably the way to go here. It will hold its heat just like a cast-iron radiator will, thereby matching the rest of the system.

Burnham, Governale, Slant/Fin and Weil-McLain all make cast-iron baseboard, but as far as I know only Burnham rates theirs for use with steam.

Thanks for all of your help on this problem. I have been trying to figure out how to make this work for a while now, without any luck. I'll be stopping at the local heating supply store today.
