Radiator Pitch - How do I check and correct?

Dear Steam Buddies,

Greetings.

I would like to know how to check the pitch on my radiators, what the correct pitch is, and if the pitch is wrong how do I correct it?

I have a gas steam heating system with recessed radiators. There is a cast iron fin inside the cabinet, with one pipe from the floor to the radiator.

My radiator that is the farthest from the boiler may possibly have a pitch problem. The room didn't get really cold until the bitter cold weather started. I began noticing that sometimes the radiator is hot and other times it feels as though it is just getting hot and had stopped. All other radiators on this upstairs floor are good and hot. Sometimes, I don't even think it received any steam at all.

Last winter, I had a Gorton No. 2 air eliminator installed on my steam main and we left the Hoffman No. 45 in place. After speaking with Ken at Gorton, I am left with the following possibilities for this problem: bad pitch on the radiator, possibly more venting needed on this radiator, or possibly more venting on my steam main.

Attached is a document that I prepared for Ken at Gorton last year, so that he could help me "balance" my heating system. It has been revised to reflect changes made since then.

I would appreciate any advise that may be offered. Thank you.
