Wall hung Munchkin

I just installed my 4th 80 Wall hung Munchkin. Do all of the main pipes come out at such a bad angle. The ones I got have the threaded 11/4" at such a bad angle down I have to put 45's on them to offset the pipes to get them staight. The boilers sure work good but, for the money they cost, the HO wants to know why those pipes can't be straight coming out of the boiler. Anybody else seen this?

    I see that

on cast iron and copper boilers also. If it's bad I start out with two 90's, as a swing joint to correct it.

I use my REMS bender to adjust if I pipe copper from the boiler.

Me and my associate have seen this too. If I use copper, I do a heat bend. Its better than crooked.

    REMS bender

My REMS won't bend that big of copper. I do use fittings to offset and make it staight but man oh man that is kind of silly for the company to let something like that get through quality control. If you left the pipe crooked it makes you look bad,why don't they think the same way? Just my thoughts!!

    Crooked connections

Just installed a T80M and had the same problem. No good way to make it look nice.

Same with last one I put in, the plumber and home owner gave me a hard time about it. Sure looks hokey specialy when I push the product.

All they have to do is put it in some sort of jig before they tighten the bands that hold it together. Maybe with there recent price increase they can spend the extra five minutes to get it right.

Whoa, HT Products call your office!

I have not had the problem with a recently installed 50. But I believe it can happen. How about when a cast boiler gets that extra two or three rows of phantom threads at the back of the fitting--that can ruin your day. I usually get them to thread up though. I do my "Dirty Harry" routine and that usually gets it to cooperate. "...I've got to tell you the truth I've lost track myself. What you gotta ask yourself punk, is if your feelin' lucky."

    What a relief!

I sure am glad I am not the only one with this problem. Just a few minutes to make it right and staight. That is all I am asking!!

it is as hot rod says..

swing fittings .Ted is right also in that heating the urination out of the tubing and off seting it ,letting it cool, cleaning it,usually keeps the eye from darting straight to THAT fitting... swing fittings though are my prefered method. one other possibility is close by union it can take up some of the slack.:)
