Circulating Pump & Thermostat

I have an indoor pool setup with a Munchkin 140M and a 100k btu Jass LT stainless steel tube heat exchanger that will supply heat to the pool.

Although I don’t have the thermostats picked out yet, the boiler/radiant manifolds are all hooked up and working thanks to my plumber, you guys, and Bob from HTP. But now, a new challenge--we have the heating of the pool to contend with.

The electrician is involved and we need to better understand how the heat exchanger will know when to kick on and get the pool warm. He mentioned something about putting a relay switch on the thermostat wire, but hasn’t figured out how to trigger the relay.

He also said something about how the circulating pump can’t be running when the main pump isn’t…make sense? Obviously this isn’t my bag, so I hope I’m not too incoherent, but does anyone have any experience with heat exchangers and circulating pumps? I think it’s mostly a Canadian thing, no?

Thanks for any advice.

P.S. What would be the best thermostat to use with this system? It’s hydronic radiant with three zones plus the pool. Should the pool be on a separate thermostat?

install a flow switch&aquastat in pool side piping.wire controls in series with zone control circuit.when pool pump is running&water temp is below aquastat setting burner &circ should operate for heat exchanger. this is just a basic control scheme.I would contact manufactor on piping&control for your particular application.
