Hot water heat for baseboard

Does anyone know how to tweak the thermostatic control on my 30gal gas water heater to make it generate 180 degree water? I currently have it on its highest setting which is 160, but would like an extra 20 degrees to help heat my sunroom.
Although its only 8 deg here in NW Pa., it's kept my sunroom between 65 & 70 degrees. If I could move the temp up slightly, I could get a bit more headroom in case we go sub-zero. Thanks in advance.
regards,
jlex.

don,t
If that water heater is a standard domestic model, it isn't designed to go hotter. don,t do it or you may be picking up the pieces of house and hauling you water heater out of your neighbors yard.
go back on the wall and read the blurb on bldg inspectors story.0 -
Thanks, but I'm not so sure about that Jeff... I've seen some other controls on the net that go to 180. My belief is the heater's designed for operation up to the pressure release valve temperature so there should be at least another 20 degrees available. I read the boiler article... I don't believe that guy had any pressure release valve piped into his system. If the temp. relief valve operates at 210 deg., there should be no problems.

It wasnt made for 180, give it up, you are asking for trouble, but since you are stubborn and ignorant go ahead. You will be on the News on a Blow up soon enough0 -
M Ransley: I don't know you and you certainly don't know me. You have accused me of being stubborn and ignorant because I haven't accepted another poster's advice.
I have reviewed your other posts, and you don't seem to have any particular expertise in plumbing matters. As a matter of fact, I believe you to be rude and annoying at best. One of your posts: "Those alt hvac hilbillys can be dam rude you know, an they think they know it all."
From the superior tone of your posts, I'd say YOU'RE a know it all type who has nothing to add except for your insults and sarcasm. If you have nothing of substance to add to this thread, do us all a favor and keep your keen wit to yourself.

ignorant is the person who comes to a professionals' site asking them a question and not listening to their answers -water heaters have 125-150* 210* relief valves but cant be run at that temperature -----as standard because of earlier -similar pressure vessels were commonly exploding killing people and damaging property --you asked if you can raise the temperature (which indicates You have no business touching the equipment) --put it this way your car has the ability to go 115 miles an hour (i say this since most newer vehicles have a fuel shutoff at this speed) it can go that fast but for how long how safely?? you have a standard water heater turn it all the way up and hope for the best// get some nice electric heaters0 -
Add more emmitters....
Rad pannels work well with lower temps trv's and hey they are cheaper than a casket .*~/:)0
