Water over fill

I have a boiler that over fills the water sight glass and I have to drain the pipes often. Does the fact the pipes are filled more than required cause the the boiler to use more gas energy or cause any other problem?
Thanks

Yes
Yes, this is costing you money. You have a problem or rather a symptom. Too much water means aq water source is leaking in when it shouldn't. You need to figure out why. If you have an automatic water feeder I would start looking there. If you have a domestic coil I would also suspect that next.0 -
Calvin- What type of system do you have?0 -
water over fill
I have a Dunkirk 229 boiler which has a mcdonnell&miller ps801rxs 24 water feeder and a wf2-24 water feeder. The low water cut off seem to come on and triggers the water feeder. the feed puts water into the system then stops . the low water cut off comes on periodically even when there seems to be enough water in the system. I have replaced the probe but it is still misfunctioning.

Can you do me a favor and go down to your system and hit the power switch. see what happens when the power comes back on. does it feed the system for more then a few seconds. I have seen a safe guard and a mcdonald miller feeder have this problem. These 2 items are not compatable together.
