Steam pressure gauge for home boiler

I am following Steamhead's advice to tune my steam system before taking the convert to water route.

Low pressure is one key point, but my pressure gauge does not work. Can anyone suggest a gauge for 1/2-inch thread that has a scale suitable to measure the 1 pound pressure levels? This seems like the best way to determine the correct pressure.

    Pressure Gauge

We use a lot of the Trerice brand. Also, a few Weiss and Marsh.

Your local supply house can probably fix you up, though. Just make sure you tell them it's for a steam system. Most of the standard gauges aren't rated for 210º.

    Pressure Gauge for Steam

I looked at all the gauges with these names and they all have a 140* maximum working temp. I went to my supply house and looked at the specs on the gauges they showed me and they all showed the same 140* max.

Does anyone make a 1-5 psi gauge that is designed for steam, or does one need to somehow isolate the gauge to protect it?

    huh?

The Trerice 450 series (non-liquid-filled) is rated for 250º.

Also, a siphon will help protect the gauge from excessive temperatures.
