Ignorant reporters -- CO

There was a story today about a 63-year-old San Jose woman who died from CO poisoning, caused by a "malfunctioning furnace." I e-mailed the reporter who wrote the article to see if she had seen or read the police/fire report. Here was her reply:
"I'm sorry I don't have more information about the furnace. This came from the family. They said it was probably ""due to it being vented away from the house.'' Snow was deep outside. That's all I was able to learn."
Yep, sure sounds like a malfunctioning furnace to me -- more like a blocked chimney vent. Methinks the reporter needs a little education. Any takers?
