Best brand steam pipe insulation?

Hi all,

I'm hunting around for some quality brand names in steam pipe insulation. I did a bit of research on this, but it isn't always readily apparent what brands and types are the best for STEAM pipes. (Which reach higher temps than water pipes, yes? No?)

I think a molded fiberglass would be best...but...just like any insulation, I know that some brands are favorites. (For example, I'm a Johns Manville fan for house insulation...)

Any favorites? Anything to stay away from? Thanks...

any of the fibeglass pipe insulation. It all has to meet the same specs. Your local dealer will be able to help you most. Personally I would go two inch on steam mains. and no, steam is not necesarraly hotter than not water heat. Steam by its very nature will be 212degrees wereas water under pressure can go hotter. Just look at the temp on your auto radiator and how hot that can get, but yes most hot water systems are set to run at 180 on average

I am just happy to be able to still be able to purchase it locally. If you really want a brand name, e-mail me, and I will place a call on Monday for you.
