Burnham LE- Good Unit/Price?

Max

I just received a quote to have a Burnham LE low-mass boiler installed alongside an Amtrol "pex-lined" "5 year" storage tank. The total was ~$5800, and our house is all on one zone, very straighforward install.

How does this price sound? Kind of my first cut at this sort of stuff. Our next option is an EK System 2000, quoted around $8000, which was a little hard to swallow.

Thanks for any responses - take care now!

    we generally ....

do not talk prices here...as anyone would tell you here the installer is the most important part of the new boiler or system....ask for references and pictures of his work...ask for others who have had this model put in how they like it...etc. do the homework so you don't feel like you rushed into something...kpc

None of us are There....so we have no idea about pricing

unless of course it sounds Way too low or totally outlandish, even then there are differences of options and well,to be honest with ten plumbers you get 100 ways to go about any given installation, same for electricians, some guys wont do ANY electrical, they are also professional just dont want to do anything with the wiring whatsoever.some guys dont want to touch venting other than the pieces you can See. they arent into choping holes in the wall for make up air or doing sheetrock work or touch up painting..and quite likely dont do windows. some wont touch fuel oil tanks others dont like propane appliances,...so when you get a bid you need to be sure of all these minor technicalities from the onset. it isnt easy to determine what all a project may entail without being There sort to speak.

    Burnham LE

I have installed two of the Burnham LE's in very tight situation's with fairly high demand. Both unit's have been running strong now and have reduced the customer's usage to date. He's happy, I'm happy...Only thing that I would make sure on is the installer follow Burnahm's install recommendation's and that the burner be properly set up by a trained tech!!..Hope this helps..
