Peerless Pinnacle venting chimney ?

Hi Guys,

I've been researching boilers to replace my 50year old American Standard & Radiator boiler. I like the price and efficiency of the Peerless Pinnacle boiler. The concern that I have is the “Direct venting” feature. Right now my current boiler vents its exhaust through my chimney. Will I be able to do the same with this Peerless Pinnacle direct vent boiler? Also has anyone used this boiler in the past? Sorry for the dumb question but I'm just don't know.

    chimney ....

I believe you will need a chimney liner since the Pinnacle condenses and could ruin your existing chimney quick-like!!

    Pinnacle

The Pinnacle must be vented with PVC (or similar approved material) as it is a condensing boiler.

Your current chimney can be used as a chase for the new PVC pipes, but you can't vent the Pinnacle directly into the chimney. Also, the Pinnacle will draw it's combustion air from outside. So two pipes will have to be dropped thought the chimney. **WARNING** Using the chimney as a chase can only be done as long as there are NO other appliances venting into it, like a water heater.
