Just how large is ISH-Frankfurt? (Dan H.)

is the last building in the Messe Frankfurt complex. The first building is that skyscraper (one of the tallest buildings in Europe) that you see off in the distance. Everything between those two points is ISH.

    I've been reading posts

here for awhile now and I'm still not sure what ISH means...maybe at one time I figured it out, but if I did, I've already forgotten. :)

    ISH

The following is a quote from their web site at http://ish.messefrankfurt.com/frankfurt/en/events.html

"ISH is the world’s most important trade fair for the sanitation, heating and air-conditioning sector. "

I believe it came from the german for 'I'nternationale 'S'anitaer und 'H'eizungs Fachmesse - International Sanitary and Heating Trade Convention

And yes, it is huge and takes one almost a full week to walk all floors and even just glare at each booth. One normally has to create a List of people and things to see, because it is hard to do it all. Got 4 of those under my belt, but will miss the next one. It is always worth a trip alone, nevermind all the other fun stuff there is to do in Frankfurt. Highly recommended for anyone in the Heating, Air Conditioning, Sanitary and Electrical / Lighting field.

    Regards,

    Mike

    you gotta be...

kidding right? How can you possibly see all of that? My feet would be killing me and my mind spinning! Too much input! I thought Boston was too much for on day...By the way Dan, it was nice to bump into you at the ISH-NA show (literally) it was only after I was walking away that I realized it was you... I was amazed at all the stuff and not watching where I was going. kpc

Nice bumping into you, too. ;-)

    ISH Frankfurt

Neat. I was there in 1994 and the Building 9 site was the parking lot where we dumped the rental car to take the shuttle bus to the main site at the time. Even then, I spent a full 4 days doing the show and only managed a once-through in each building. Stuff I saw there in '94 is just now coming over to this side of the pond. Makes the ASHRAE/AHR show look like a small town fair.

    and not far from ISH

there is a time warped village square where you can step back in time several hundred years and sit at an outdoor cafe with best friends while sipping a cold beverage.

    My Two Cents

Heres a photo of ONE SIDE of the Viessmann booth.

I spent the first day of ISH, JUST in the boiler buildiing. I wish I was going but I think Mrs Milne would have the family jewels removed if I took another trip tp Germany with out her.

To all that are going .... Look, listen, learn and drink all the beer they give you. I have friends for life from my trip two years ago.

Dave, I don't remember you asking me for a cold one ... sniff, sniff.

    A walk-about: did just that in 03

Took five days to walk every halle & that's without stopping except for the booths that really grabbed my attention. If you're only going for one day, I'd suggest studying the exhibitor categories and pick the ones you most want to view and visit.
