gas consumption

I recently had a new hot water boiler installed in my 2900 sf 1870 victorian. Burnham 198,000 btu natural gas. The majority of the first floor is served by a new Bryant AHU with a hot water coil. A small section is still served by radiators. Second floor is served by radiators and one room with electric baseboard. The third floor has no heat. Generally we try to maintain about 70 degrees.
The old boiler was about 75 years old and 350,000 btus with an unknown effeciency and was oversized for the house.
Here's the problem. December's gas bill was only 1% by gas consumption less than it was last December. All things considered, I thought I would have seen more of a saving with the new 82% effecient boiler.
Overall the first floor seems generally colder that it did last year with the radiators. (please save the lecture on removing the radiators...I learned my lesson.)
Anybody have any thoughts. Installer is shrugging his shoulders and is coming out next week. Is is possible that there is a gas pressure problem, regulator problem, burner calibration problems....Any thoughts where to start looking??

gas bill
Hi John. Do a Google for "Degree Days"and check with your gas supplier or local airport for the DegreeDays this year and last. Extra windy conditions make a big diff.with older houses too. Also, make sure your bills are actual readings.
There's a lot more to it than this, but it's a start. Your dealer should be able to calculate this for you. Good Luck.0 -
sounds like there arent enough heat emmiters to properly
distribute the heat you have.0
