venting mains

learning the ropes
Member Posts: 3
Can someone please give me an idea of what the proper venting should be for my one pipe steam system.
My short main is 1 1/2 X 25ft with a groton #1 vent. My long main is 2 X 60ft also with one #1 groton vent.

The short main is fine
but the long one should have a pair of Gorton #2 vents. This should balance the mains nicely- steam will reach the ends of both mains quickly and at about the same time.
If the short main continues to outrun the long main, change to a Hoffman #4A on the short one.
