on my boiler i have bad lag time. the water always seems to be very low. Also on almost all my radiators i have water coming out of them and just spilling on the floor. It usually happens when the boiler goes back on. Please tell if these are 2 seperate problems or that its connected and whats the solution.

boiler and radiator
i would like to explain my situation. I have a steam boiler . The pressure cuts in at a half pound and cuts off at one pound. The problem is that the water is not returning to the boiler fast enough.Could it be that the return line is clogged. Is there any way to test to see if its clogged. As well my radiators at the front of the house are spritzing out water from the radiator valve. Is there any connection between the two questions.0 -
rad inlets
1st make sure the rad inlet valves are completely open and the rads are pitched bacc to the inlet valve on a 1 pipe steam system. Then, sure if the returns aren't pitched correctly back to the boiler they won't drain, if you have any pipe thats under the basement floor suspect it. If no pipe is under the floor you can flush out what's there, IT IS REAL MESSY and smelly, The pros put down plastic sheets and get a Big wet and dry vac.0 -
relief and temperature valve
Have old Dyna-Therm summer-winter hook up. On the cold water from the main that fills the tank for hot water, what pound and what temperature valve should be in it? It is regular house water pressure going in to the boiler.0 -
Seems like the boiler is way over filled. Water level should be around 2/3 on the sight glass on the side on the boiler. Drain the thing and start over.0
