    Re-pipe

    Hi Ron,

This one was on me. It was a job that was done just as I was leaving my previous employer 3 years ago. It was poorly designed (by me) and poorly executed due to a lack of oversight (again, on me).

We had lots of problems balancing the system and getting the proper flow rate to the remote manifolds. The performance of the indirect (or lack thereof) was also disappointing. After numerous service calls, the homeowner finally exclaimed "I wish I had just installed forced air!" Those words stung and we finally took responsibilty and made it right - on my dime.

The lesson learned: Finish what you got before you start something new. The good news is that the system works great now and the homeowner loves her radiant/DHW system and is also my best advertiser in her neighborhood. She got me two new jobs in her neighborhood in the past three months. -DF

Central , to the install are service questions....

maybe , being able at a central location to remove and replace parts, trouble shoot make adjustments and repair and protect components these cabinets are good things...buh what are you going to do with all that extra daylight ..?

'Tip of the hat to you

That was a very ethical thing of you to do, considering you could have just walked away.

The previous manifold is impressive to say the least. Whoever soldered it all up did a nice job... But if it doesn't perform... out it goes. Economists refer to this as "sunk cost!".

Anyway, congrats again on the new installation. It looks super and I am so glad that your generosity has been repaid with extra jobs in the neighborhood. Good Karma comes around eventually and your reputation is usually your biggest business asset.

BTW, what pump-panel are you using there for distribution?

    Boiler

Thanks, Clammy. The boiler stayed and it is a Monitor MZ40. The "after" photo shows the same boiler with the jacket installed. -DF

    It takes a big man...

    to admit when he's wrong.

It takes an even BIGGER man to fix it on his own dime, especially when he didn't profit from the job in the first place...

You stand extremely tall in my mind.

    Honesty pays.

Keep up the great, ethical work!

It's a shame there are not more of you in our industry!!!!

Not many businesses would do what you did, but look at the end result! 2 more jobs.... + great word of mouth for you and Radiant Heating!
