I have been doing some reading and have found out that i need to add some more vents to my long single pipe steam main. Can i do this by making a vent manifold off the 3/4 nipple from the original vent? Or do the vents each need there own taps into the main?

A manifold will work fine
Have you measured the length and diameter of the main? This is how we calculate vent sizes.

main sizes
My short main is 1 1/2 x 25 ft with a #1 groton vent.
The long main is 2 x 60ft also with a #1 groton vent.
Will a #2 groton vent be enough for the long main or should i use a few #1's ?
thanks
