Changing Pressuretrol

Our steam boiler sprung a leak from a solenoid located in the back of the boiler. I cut it out and plugged it because it was part of the old hot water delivery system.

The leak had drenched everything so that the relay on the burner burned out - - the wires melted. The relay was replaced but now the pressuretrol is acting strange.

I cleaned the pigtail out. It's wide open now. But sometimes the burner doesn't kick in, so I'll tap the pressuretrol and it'll kick in.

Are there any other adjustments that have to be made besides the cut-in and the cut-out on a new Honeywell pressuretrol?

It is old and I would like to replace it.

    wet pressuretrol

No adjustments other than pressure. Sounds like some moisture got into the switch. Replace it.

how to set the dial on pressuretrol

on a Honeywell pressuretrol, there is a dial to set the differential pressure, the dial has the numbers 1-5, but it is not clear WHERE the dial is to be set. There is no mark to line up the number with.
How should this dial look when facing the unit to get "1" which everyone says in the best setting.
    THanks for any assistance.
