Best Location for Boiler Feedwater Line

Mount the expansion tank and air seperator on the supply piping at the suction side of the pump. Inbetween the air seperator or air scoop where you mount the tank install a tee and hook up feed line there.

I need opinions and thoughts on this
On a hot water boiler, what is the ideal location for the cold water feed line? Is it on the return above the boiler water level or down lower or doesn't it make much difference? How about size of the feed for a typical residential boiler? I use 1/2" line but am I missing something?0 -
Hey Bruce
I always look for the circulator and then install the water feed on the suction side of the circulator. This should also be where you attach the expansion tank. A good book on this subject is available in the "Books and More" section of this web site, Titled "Pumping Away" Good Luck. WW
