Inexpensive outdoor reset for buderus

Anyone have an alternative to the pricey ecomatic so I can have an auto setback on my Buderus to set back water temps when the crazy weather in VT fluctuates so much? I have seen some in the Michel's catalog but have no experience with them. Thanks

    outdoor reset for Buderus

You can use just about anybody's reset controller on any boiler. Tekmar, Taco, and on and on.....but why ruin a good thing. True, any manudacturer's control will be more expensive, but it's hard to beat the combo of a Buderus boiler and the Ecomatic.....a match made in heaven.

any Control will work just as well on the Buderuses :)

But never forget to look at the features, functions and prices. It has to be worth the buck for the bang.

    benefits of Logamatic

Here are a couple of features that not only save money, but also help provide a long service life of the boiler: Minimum burner firing temperature to help eliminate any condesation that may have formed in the boiler. Pump Logic will hold the heat circulators off if the burner is running and the boiler cannot maintain 104 degrees. On a call for domestic hot water, the DHW circulator will not be energized till the temperature in the boiler exceeds the temperature in the tank. The control has a logic that knows how fast the outdoor temperature is rising or falling and adjust the burner temperature/differential as needed, fire the boiler to only 20 degrees above the DHW desired temperature when the DHW loss is from stand by loss verse a draw down. The control usually provides 20 to 25% savings in fuel a year.

    Logamatic

The Buderus control allows easy priority basis for an indirect DHW tank, and is matched to the boiler. The tekmar comparable control that will do both mixing valve, high temp loop and DHW costs similarly. The 2107 is highly recommended!!

    I wouldn't think twice

Use the 2107 and you'll never be sorry. It is a matched system when paired with a Buderus boiler, tailored exactly for how it is supposed to operate. In my humble experience, the 2107 is also nearly bulletproof and will tolerate substantial abuse. I have had two houses that have taken direct lightning hits where the 2107 was about the only electronic piece of equipment that survived.

In this case it seems that the R2107 is you best choice. Tekmar is great and everything has its applications.
