air in oil?

I have an outdoor tank 90' from burner approximately 15' higher than burner. It is a single pipe system, top tank fed by 5/8 line(supply house recommendation). The burner is a Beckett, w/outdoor air kit. Lowest temp at night 30'F. The burner will run for a few hours, then shut off on safety. If I go and bleed at pump, I get air bled and away she fires again. I am not sure if I have a loose fitting between the OSV and the burner which is drawing in small quantities of air which accumulates in the pump till it can't fire anymore or what? One other thing, the install is new and I wonder if all the air is out of the line where the high point of the fuel line is over the tank. Maybe some of that air is finding its way down to the burner? Any education would be appreciated.

    air leaks

Sounds like air leaks but with a suction line that long and a outdoor tank it could be fuel jelling i would throw somew anti jell additve and install a tiger loop on your burner .How many inches of vacume are you pulling your burner pump could be cavatating peace and good luck clammy

    osv

Oil safety valves require a vacuum to open and allow oil to burner. I believe you will need to make it a 2 pipe system and install a dely ignition.

It's an air leak and when you

get done bleed the osv thoroughly, Go here:
    www.onwatchinc.com

and read 'On The Job #13.

Do not add a return line, it's the ultimate band-aid and downright stupid with a 15' drop, talk about redundant. FIX THE AIR LEAK!

I think your all wrong, A 15' drop on a single pipe oil line, assuming there is no leak, and you have to keep bleeding the pump, means you have an air leak on the oil line inside the tank.Remove the line from top of tank and REPLACE IT.
