Production transfer plate tips

next week. I try to do as much in the shop as possible. Cold weather and all :)
I start by predrilling bundles of 2X2 furring strips. These will attach to the wall studs via grabber screws.
Then I predrill and pre cut the transfer plates in the box. Keeps 'em all straight and easy to transport to the job. Some plates come predrilled.
Then these furring strips will be cut and installed on a 6 foot tall exterior shower wall (window above the 6 foot level.
Next the transfer plates attach to the furring strips set back just a bit from the face of the studs. This frees up the stud for the tilesetters to attach the CBS directly to the studs without dealing with the aluminum transfer plate in their way :) And centers the plates in the 14" wide stud space better.
After the plates are fastened to the studs we weave the PAP up and down each stud bay, drill a hole at the bottom and cross into the next stud bay for the same layout.
It's tricky, but a pneumatic palm nailer will drive the tube into the transfer plates from behind.
Pressure test the zone, the insulators install the batts or foam and the tilesetters are free to start.
Nothing puts a smile on a homeowners face faster than heated tile shower walls. A BIG plus when the shower walls are exterior walls!
It's standard practice to radiant all our customers shower walls now a days.
They tell all their friends :)

I'm humbled to have the aquaintance of someone with so much forsight. That my friend, is very impressive.
Just goes to show, you learn something everyday....whether you want to or not. Dan put it the best to me when he said "the day you stop learning is the day they plant you in the ground". Thanks H.R.. Yet another trick for the files. Chris0 -
it looks like a good way to go.
our climate basically requires us to Pony up a partitionwall on the insulated vapor barriered tremcoed exterior wall first, then our plumbing may live inside the building envelope..i can see it though. When the pap first came to my attention (the Wirsbo product) i thought well maybe when they have the stuff i will make some boiler headers out of it ,and remote station headers,...for whatever the reason i havent installed any pap at all...i could envision red and blue o barrier wirsbo running into white pap header .... it would be the American thing to do when are we going to see blue O barrier and when are we going to see one inch white PAP? i can see it in my minds eye *~/:)0
