zoneless (buderus)

We just did this change out last month. The WM-66 was tired after only ten years. The coils were leaking and with no mixing valve the hot water was 180 deg. The cust. had to keep adding water to the boiler every day. We added a feeder to keep it running untill it could be changed out. The cust. wanted something safer, quieter, cleaner and more control on the hot water. The new boiler is a g115/21 boiler s120 indirect with a 2107 control. We added a room sensor so we could run the BB on constant circulation. The second zone was the basement and we can change this zones heat output later to match the system if needed. The one zone install should keep the boiler from short cycling and the constant circulation should add comfort to the home.

Thanks for any replys in advance........

That is a Low Water Cut Off, it will shut off the burner if no water in system. It's code now.......

    it looks clean.

i like to get the boiler, indirect, water heater off the ground., foam , pavers, stand ,something to elavate it a bit even when the code doesnt require it.that place used to have a coal fired boiler and fireplace huh?The blue boys look good though *~/:)Blue is good . i like blue :)

    Nice looking job Mellow.

Quite a change from the other blue boiler. The homeowner will be kicking himself in the butt for never doing anything about the hot water before. Now you'll find out about some real savings for them too.(unless, of course they figure out that marathon showers are now possible!). Chris

    I aggree...

cement blocks are cheap. besides getting the boiler and water heater off the moist floor it also helps the burner tech to not have to bend down so low during service. Mellow very neat piping. I like the spiro. kpc

    Nice clean work

Looks nice, I was wondering about the zoning did you murge the second zone with the first two loops and just balance them? Did you not need a draft regulator, how about a vacum breaker on the indirest cold feed ( code in my state), I like it.Check next year on what the fuel consumption savings are, real numbers woould be great to know.Do you have the combustion test figures? We are presently doing a new Buderus G-215 install replacing a sad aging Peerless, I'll post pictures for all to see and evaluate.
    Nice work Mellow

    thanks for th reply

I have put a few of the boilers on blocks but in the dry basements I like them on the floor. The adjustible feet work best for me that way. I do not like draft regulators on most of my boilers but will be installing them from now on.....The draft on most chimneys seem to be very low....... I will put it on anyway...........The vac breaker would be a good idea (not pushed in this state)and should be but you and your cust. will enjoy the fuel savings........looking forward to the pics.

    Days are numbered.

today we started the installation of the primary/secondary piping for the future Buderus g/215 with an ecomatic control, this will be a heating season change out so all needs to be in place with this seven zone system, more pics to follow.
Notice how sad the Peerless looks it knows something is up and it's days are numbered
