Failed boiler pressure gauge

The pressure gauge attached directly into the side of my boiler (Burnham Independence PV, PIN 4PV) failed. I would like to replace it and attach it like this: Install a union on the pigtail, a short nipple, a Tee, two short nipples to go horizontal right and left from the Tee, two elbows to come back to verticle, two more unions and attach the new gauge to one side and the vaporstat to the other. I was thinking that this would facilitate any future dissassembly and/or maintanence. Are there any drawbacks to doing this?
