    Prestige

    Patrick,

My rep brought one by my office several weeks ago. Looks like a good product. Like you, I am anxious for some feedback from someone who has actually installed one. -DF

    Prestige Boiler

My local rep has a project we may get involved with. The boiler is new but you can download the installation manual from their web site. I think you may find that the controls are very similar to a number of other ss condensing boilers and remarkably, so is the capacity and proportional reset controls. I suspect components come from same/similar sources. Its success will depend upon factory support and quality control.

    I saw

a tri tube trailer with an operating boiler set up in it. The saleman said they use the same controls as the WM Ultra. WW

    Controls

The controls are "Made in Holland" if you look at the literature pix closely.

Did an install about 4-5 weeks ago (a comp beta test unit for hi alt-engineer owner supplied). It was the smallest unit Prestige makes. It is also the only one with a SS heat exchanger verses Al for the larger sizes.

My Weil McLain sales guy saw the install and mentioned that it used Ultra controls.

    Impressions:

Rather large for the BTUs.(if I remember about 98K) There is a lot of wasted space in this puppy. This may not apply to the larger units-use the same cabinet etc.

Pretty simple to pipe and vent-much like a NTI trinity.

You have to supply (read fabricate) the vent term screens,I used some extra NTI ones I had laying around, but lame anyway.

Primary Circ pump built in (007 low head loss HX).

Instructions were weak. Took more than a few calls to clarify obvious errors in the install manual (Beta test manual that was e-mailed to me).
A wiring error in the manual would cause it to lock out after a heat call was satisfied. I assume these issues will be adressed in marketed units.

Other than the wiring called out wrong, the unit has worked flawlessly. The system it is installed in has extremely low supply and return temps (90F supply). The unit seems to love them. Lots of condensation. A CGA test gave us about 92% eff @full fire, if I remember correctly. We do a lot of NTI
Trinity installs and usually the best we get from them is 89%-90%.

    It's very quiet.

Controls, set up looked hard at first but was a snap-5mins to set up operation peramiters.

Would I install another? hate to say it.....but it depends on how the pricing works out.

    Try google search Triangle Tube

  • Prestige Solo

Have one installed, 12 coming in.

    Fabulous!

They are changing the logic of the control so it will act differently then the WM. My observation of the WM version is that it will increase(read boost) the output temp 14F every 10 minutes of constant heat call.. until it reaches max boiler temperature... this feature will be turned off on the new Prestige.

Only one size available, two choices, LP or Nat.

    regards,

    Steve

    prestige install

I have been on three install's, first was a little long 'cause it was our first. Next two were smooth as silk. I really liked the vent legnth and DHW supply connection provided. Would recommend getting the troubleshooting guide from your rep. It has all the "soft codes" in it. Very quiet operation and lots of condensate. Very low pressure drop accross the HX. Nice and straight forward interior, with external access to all temp readings. As far as the controls go, they are already out there, which I guess would make it easier to find in a pinch
