piece of cake PAP fitting

fittings. Inexpensive, versatile, uses the crimp tools I have owned since PB days...

A pencil reamer removes the sharp edge, then I slide on the ring, then I use my REMS copper expender tool to slightly enlarge the ID. The fitting easily slides into the tube now.

It does take some muscle to crimp the expanded pieces. The long handled crimpers work best :)

Notice the small plastic ring that comes with the fitting. This, I think, is to keep the aluminum inner layer from contacting the brass fitting.

Thinking about the "black spot" Kitec failures seen here recently. I wonder that copper or brass tube in contact with the PAP aluminun could be the path of electrical current?? And hense, the corrosion by stray current??

Certainly finding the cause or sourse would be the cure, maybe some funky grounding issues?

These plastic isolator washers seem like cheap insurance.

    Expanding Multicor?

I thought that if you expanded composite tubing the aluminium would split?

What's wrong with Wirsbo's crimp process?
